Applications of the HaptiComm Device

HaptiCommís flexible design and implementation strategies allow it to have a broad range of applications. Many of its applications are not dependant on the device itself but more on the sort of equipment you connect it with (via bluetooth or wireless connectivity). At a very basic level, the device is a letter, number, word, concept or other symbol converter that lallows for each to be represented in a tactile format. Each pattern of actuation is entirely dependant on the individual user. Some of the possible applications are (but not limited to) :

-         Speech Recognition
HaptiComm can work with any mobile device or computer that is already enabled with speech recognition such as siri, Google Assistant or Dragon Naturally Speaking. HaptiComm can convert the text generated directly to a tactile format.

-         Text conversion
You can use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to convert visual images of text which you have taken on a mobile device or a scanner which can then be passed to HaptiComm for transfer for a tactile format.

-         Receiving a phone call or message
In conjunction with speech recognition you can pass a phone call or text message (SMS, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp etc) to the HaptiComm device.

-         Screen Reading
HaptiComm can follow your mouse cursor and provide descriptive information about whatís on your screen.
