Welcome to the HaptiComm Project

The Deafblind Haptic Communicator Project – HaptiComm for short – Is a device aimed at reproducing the natural tactile sensations that exist in established Deafblind communication methods. HaptiComm embodies a paradigm shift in accessibility, adaptive technology and disability [centric design principles.

The project received recognition and accolades for its work by receiving the award for “Best Hands-on Demo” at EuroHaptics 2018 held in Pisa, Italy. It is also the recipient of the “Research Applications” award from the University of Sydney Student Innovation challenge 2018.

HaptiComm continues to be developed and advanced forming part of PhD, master’s and other research projects.
